Concourse Athletic Club Pilates Programming

 

The Concourse Athletic Club offers a variety of options for Pilates training. We have a complete Pilates studio which includes all of the traditional Pilates apparatus as well as contemporary additions.  The Mat classes are complimentary with Membership.  To maximize the true benefits of a Pilates workout, private and semi-private sessions in the Pilates studio are highly recommended.

How To Get Started

Pilates Mat
Pilates Mat Classes do not use equipment and focus on core stability, spinal flexibility and alignment. Pilates Mat Class sizes are limited. For current Pilates Mat schedule, see Group Fitness Schedule.

Reformer
This innovative machine is the heart of equipment-based Pilates training. Originally designed for rehabilitation and later refined for athletic training, the Reformer allows you to personalize your workout with varying degrees of resistance and assistance. The Reformer enhances movement awareness and control through a flowing, full body workout that increases core strength, coordination, flexibility, improves alignment and muscular balance. Class size is limited to no more than 4 participants.

Small Group Pilates

Small Group Pilates gives you all of the benefits of working out on Pilates equipment while enjoying the energy of an intimate small group setting. The benefits of a Small Group Class come from working with the different pieces of equipment and still having the individual attention needed to truly advance doing a Pilates workout. The different pieces of equipment allow for more exercise variations than a traditional Mat Class allowing the student to have a greater sense of whether he or she is stabilizing and moving with proper integrity and control. The spring tension allows for the exercises to be more assistive, to ensure proper muscle recruitment or resistive to improve strength and stamina.  Each class is designed to provide students with an overall body workout that strengthens, stretches and defines all muscle groups. Classes may include Magic Circles, Therabands, and other props as well as the Tower Unit. Class size is limited to no more than 4 participants.

Instruction

Private/Semi-Private Instruction
Experience the benefits of a Pilates workout. Private and semi-private sessions are available by appointment with our certified Pilates Instructors using the Reformer, Cadillac, Mat and Chair. The Pilates Method improves core and muscle strength, flexibility and overall athletic performance. It's much more than an abdominal workout! Small Group Pilates Training
Small group sessions are available. Prior to participating in these small group sessions, 3 private sessions are recommended before participating in small group classes. All classes are held in the Pilates Studio.

Policies

Cancelation Policy
To avoid being charged for private instruction, cancelations must be made 12 hours in advance.

Safety Policy
Due to the highly specialized instruction required, Pilates equipment may not be utilized by members without one of our Certified Pilates Instructors.
